Radiation Alert® Detection Instruments
Since 1979, S.E. International's Radiation Alert® line of detectors have given our clients the confidence and support they need. Radiation Alert instruments are reliable and easy to use. Our excellent support staff is ready to assist you in choosing the right detector for your application.
Radiation Detectors / Geiger Counters, Dosimeters, and Radiation Spectrum Analyzers
For decades, analog Geiger counters became a standard in the industry of radiation detection. They don't utilize the current digital processing technology. They "live" response to exposure, without the averaging or count processing utilized with digital processing technology. Many professionals prefer the reaction and real time readings that an analog needle meter can read. They are based on tried and true methods and serve a large range of industries, from leak detection to general surveys.
Digital survey meters offer a wide range of features that are not available with an analog meter. Though our survey meters are based on the same detector technology, most models can perform all of the functions of an analog meter, but with a many more advantages. Some digital meter features include viewing in different units of measurement, data recording, timed counts, programmed efficiencies, and averaging, resulting in more accurate readings. The displays are on an LCD with a digital readout.”
Where GM based radiation detectors are an excellent instrument for detecting and answering the questions of, "Is there radiation present and how much?", they can't determine which isotope is emitting the radiation. In steps the Spectrum Analyzer. With scintillation probes and a radiation multi channel spectrum analyzer, you can not only determine the exposure rate, but you can identify the specific isotopes emitting the radiation.
